5 Steps of Calf Rearing
After the success of last years educational campaign, The 5 steps to successful dairy farming, ProFarm will launch a new campaign focusing on calf rearing. Simple cartoons will explain farmers how to take care of the progeny from our breeding services. It stresses the importance of hygiene at time of birth, colostrums feeding, individual housing and proper nutrition without overfeeding.

For the first time available in Pakistan, Sprayfo Calf Milk Replacer
ProFarm Pakistan has expanded it's feeding portfolio with Sprayfo Calf Milk Replacer from Holland. Although already used by the major corporate farms in the country, the use of milk replacer is unknown to the majority of dairy farmers. ProFarm will launch a regulated introduction were progressive farmers will be trained extensively in the use of the product before they participate in the program. If prepared and fed in the correct manner, Sprayfo brings a constant nutrition to calves enabling them to grow strong and healthy. In addition, the cost of Sprayfo is significantly less than the price the farmer can get for the cow milk that is now given to the calves. Together with a simple set of accessories like teat buckets, whisks, cups, jugs and thermometers, Sprayfo will be available through our centers from December onwards.

The joint venture will supply the Punjab dairy farmers with proven high quality Holstein Friesian semen and Jersey semen from CRV Holding by setting up a large marketing, sales and service network, initially within the infrastructure of Nestlé Pakistan and local partners in the Punjab province. The company will reach at least 132.000 farmers in the Nestlé network

Potential
CRV and The Blue Link see a huge potential in the Pakistan dairy sector. Pakistan’s dairy sector is experiencing a fast growth as a result of a structural increase of domestic demand for processed milk and dairy based products.
